TEIE TEIE, AROHA, MŌHALA…. But what do all these names associated with each candle mean?
Quite simply, by using these different names, we wanted to transport you to a sunny destination, where there is calm, the sound of the waves and the gentle ocean breeze gliding between the palm leaves. These names take you straight to the Pacific islands, at least, one island in particular, the one where my dad grew up, Tahiti .
A magical place with its natural beauty , known for its lush nature, white sand beaches and crystal clear water, we wanted to bring a bit of this beauty to our collection of natural candles. Each term has a particular meaning and tells a story . For example, our ANUANUA candle, symbolizes "rainbow" in Tahitian, which is also called "Anuanua Mai Tahiti", but it is more common to simply use the word "Anuanua". You will notice that the shape of ANUANUA represents a rainbow, so its name is a little nod to its pretty shape.
Finally, we also chose Tahitian names for our candles because of their connection to the natural beauty of the island and their strong commitment to environmental protection . Certain names of our creations, such as our pretty “FENUA” candle which means “Earth” in Tahitian, reflect this same commitment and our desire to create with quality , 100% natural raw materials and recyclable materials for our packaging. We are committed to protecting our beautiful planet and minimizing our impact on the environment.
